Good evening. I propose the creation of subcategories for stubs ("Ebòch"), such as: Kategori:Ebòch jewografi, Kategori:Ebòch moun, Kategori:Ebòch espò, etc. and their corresponding templates. Regards, --Fadesga (discussion) 6 jen 2016 à 01:51 (UTC)Reponn

I think it is a good ideia! What do you think about this LLarson (d · k)? DARIO SEVERI (discussion) 6 jen 2016 à 04:58 (UTC)Reponn

I ak @ I, I think I agree: having one single stubs category is not very helpful. But so many articles on Wikipedya are of stub length that I wonder if the categorization helps. Based on comments here, I’d love to get I’s input. —LLarson (di & ) 6 jen 2016 à 12:54 (UTC)Reponn

Thanks @

I, @ I and @ I. I am rather new to the Haitian Creole Wikipedia (which I slowly can understand thanks to my passive knowledge of French). As you can see I am just trying to give a helping hand. So, thanks a lot for reading this and taking care. --Fadesga (discussion) 6 jen 2016 à 13:14 (UTC)Reponn

I Mwen tou (aprè yon ti kras etidye kreyòl) ! I’m super grateful to see you here and thank you much for your help! —LLarson (di & ) 6 jen 2016 à 14:20 (UTC)Reponn

Well... I think we should just delete the template, as I proposed here. First, Google Translate tells me that the word probably means "draft" rather than "stub", and everything's a "draft" on a wiki. Second, it "belongs" on 99% of articles, which isn't helpful. Therefore, I'm inclined to not import the big-wiki style of tagging stubs. WhatamIdoing (discussion) 6 jen 2016 à 15:06 (UTC)Reponn
I had not noticed before but really are thousands of them, it will be a lot of work and the name, as mentioned by WhatamIdoing, is not the most appropriate. DARIO SEVERI (discussion) 6 jen 2016 à 18:49 (UTC)Reponn
I don’t really have an opinion on the stub classes; I’ll defer to

I, an editor who knows very well how small Wikipedias work. I’d support keeping the name ebòch though: it’s a cognate with French’s ébauche, which they use on Wikipédia en français. WhatamIdoing is correct: neither really means what “stub” means in English. —LLarson (di & ) 6 jen 2016 à 19:23 (UTC)Reponn

It's hard for me, because I really like stub classes and categorizing things in general. But, realistically, I'm not seeing the practical value for such a small group, when nearly everything is a stub.
Now if someone were to propose categorizing the templates so that we can actually find what's here and what's missing, and giving them /doc pages – there aren't that many templates, especially when you ignore the language ones – I'd probably seize him or her by both hands and offer to chain him to a computer (the chain will be made out of doughnuts, with chocolate, candy and your choice of coffee or tea nearby  ;-).
Cleaning up the cat tree, including finding matches with other languages and providing translations into English, French and/or Spanish at the top (for people like me, who'd be happy to help categorize things if I could find the right categories), is another noble effort that needs hours of someone's time. You can see the translation approach that we took at Kategori:Mande administratè, but we haven't hooked it into Wikidata to match with other languages yet (that one is maybe the same as w:en:Category:Administrative backlog?).
A look at these lists might also be in order:
So part of what's driving my opinion is that I think that there are other things that should probably be done first, before trying to sub-divide the stubs. WhatamIdoing (discussion) 6 jen 2016 à 20:20 (UTC)Reponn
